Tilly: 'They have spent quite a bit and because of that I think they be will be aiming for the play-offs'

Blues boss Steve Tilson spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk: "'There's a strange atmosphere there as our fans are about a mile away from the pitch behind one of the goals. It should be a good game though because both teams have been in good form lately and it will be a real test for us.

Tilly continued on the threat the Seagulls pose: "Brighton had an iffy start to the season but they have won their last two games and will be confident ahead of playing us. We're playing well too and I think it has the makings of an entertaining affair. They have some good players, including Nicky Forster, who is an experienced goal-getter and someone we will have to keep quiet."

However, will loanee Sunderland striker Roy O'Donovan make his Shrimpers debut? Tilly is giving nothing away other than a concern for his fitness, Roy having not been involved with the Black Cat first team squad for a while now.

He would only comment: "You would have to ask him how fit he is but he has pace and will stretch opposing defences. I felt that was something we needed and it's good we've been able to bring Roy in."

Slade: Delighted with his side's display

Slade: 'Nobody's place is safe'

Brighton boss Russell Slade told www.theargus.co.uk: "The last three games have given us seven points from a possible nine, so we have a little bit of momentum at the moment. We need to keep that going and the players in the side know that. If we lose that momentum then probably there is someone tapping them on the shoulder and saying it's my turn."
