Tilly: 'Charlton will be another tough test'

Blues boss Steve Tilson felt the final score didn't do justice to the effort his side put in.

Tilly spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk : "The difference tonight was Norwich's finishing. Norwich are a good side and play good football and for me, they will finish in the top two this season. But I thought we matched them and worked tirelessly for 90 minutes. Unfortunately, that bit of quality through a 10 minute spell in the second half has killed us. We had our chances and on another night we may have got something, but it wasn't to be."

Oh well, only Charlton away up next.

Tilly concluded: "They had a good result at Brighton and are right up there, so we know it's going to be another tough test."

Lambert: 'Since I've been here the lads have been immense'

Canaries boss Paul Lambert accepts his club have no 'divine right to just turn up and win.'

Lambert told www.canaries.co.uk: "The club was on it's knees when we came in but the lads are getting results for us at the minute and the turnaround has been terrific. All we can do is try and win. Since I've been here we've had to play catch up and the lads have been immense."

On the match he continued: "We had a lot of possession of the ball in this game but Southend have honest lads and they are not going to let us do what we want. They are good professionals and it is a tough place to come. You have to earn the right to win football matches."
