Tilson: 'Good progress, but we won't take the risk with Macca just yet'

Blues boss Steve Tilson has nothing but praise for the Shrimper fans that continue to support the club through thick and thin, with lots of the latter at the moment!

Tilly spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk: "The fans have been fantastic at home and again away against Gillingham on Monday. They have continued to back the players and myself and they have done us proud. They have stuck behind us in what has been a tough year and they need to keep doing that until the rest of the season."

So on to West Yorkshire and Leeds United, in vital need of three points themselves, but at the other end of the table.

Midfield terrier Alan McCormack was badly missed in the 3-0 defeat at Gillingham Easter Monday, and it's been confirmed he's out of the Leeds game.

Tilly continued: "Saturday's going to come too soon. Macca won't be travelling to Leeds. He's making good progress but he's not 100% yet so we won't take the risk."

Oh bugger!
