Tilly: 'Mildy clearly has two hands on the ball'

Southend manager Steve Tilson has now seen the video evidence re the first Southampton goal Friday evening.

Tilly told the Echo: "Lee Turner, Paul Brush and myself have all seen it and we can't believe the goal was given. Steve Mildenhall clearly has two hands on the ball and their player, (Neal Trotman), has kicked it out of his hands to score but the referee hasn't seen that. It's another decision to go against us but we can't do anything about it now."

Moving on to the next game at home to Bristol Rovers, he confirmed what the players were saying themselves yesterday; midfielder Alan McCormack is OK, while the returning Jean M'Voto needs to be looked at in training before a final decision is made.

Tilly continued: "I'm sure Macca will be fine but we will have to wait and see with Jean. He's been out for a while and has only done limited stuff in training so far, so it's too early to say if he will be able to play. He hasn't done anything yet that will really test out his hip and we need to see how it reacts to different things. Jean's certainly getting closer to returning though which is encouraging and it's good he's been able to come back from Sunderland again."
