While accepting Saturday's 2-0 win over relegated Cheltenham, confirming 8th place in the final League One table, only six points but a few goals against outside the play-offs, was a 'good performance and a good win' and that 'it was always good to end the season with a win in front of our own fans', he knows there is work to be done during the close season if the team are going to get closer next time around.

The vast majority of the Blues squad are already contracted to the club beyond the summer with only a few yet to resolve their futures but with the club building a new stadium, finances are tight and Tilly admits funds for new additions will be restricted.

Speaking to the official website he said: "There are only a few - Peter Clarke, Ian Joyce and a few of the younger lads - that are out of contract so there won't be a lot of comings and goings - but hopefully there will be a few coming in. Most people have signed for next year so there shouldn't be loads of activity like last year. We will have to weigh up the situation and see what we need. At the moment it is difficult out there for any club with the credit crunch and we are trying to build a new stadium, so it's difficult."

Commenting on the two brilliant goals that sealed the three points, 'an excellent header from Adam' and 'Jeff (Christophe) has come off the bench and scored a cracking goal at the end." Tilly then continued on the theme of the side and the future of the 'big three'.

"The lads have done really well this season and I'm proud of their efforts, especially in the second half of the season. To finish 8th is a great achievement. We have a little bit of work to do in the summer but hopefully Peter Clarke will sign a new contract and stay. Dorian and Theo have been big players for us this season and it would be great to be able to keep hold of them, but we will have to wait and see."
