Tilson: 'Something happening every season while I'm in charge'

It's been a season horribilis for Blues boss Steve Tilson, and he wants to treat the Roots Hall faithful to a win in the final League One game for the time being against the fellow relegated Hatters.

However, he is already thinking about the future and how to get out of the basement division as soon as possible.

Tilly spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk: "There is always something happening every season while I am in charge, but hopefully, next season things will be better and we can get promotion. It's has been my toughest season so far and I don't think anyone would think any different."

Certainly additions will have to be made to a depleted squad, but will there be any money?

Tilly continued: "I've got a rough idea of the budget, but we have to wait and see what the situation is with players and go from there. To play over 20 minutes against Oldham with 10 men summed up our season."

Ablett: 'We haven't been good enough'

Hatters boss Garry Ablett has been pressing the Stockport consourtium that are hoping to take over the club next month to confirm his position so he can begin planning for a quick return.

However, a 6-0 hammering by Huddersfield at home last week was their fifth defeat in a row, and they have lost their last seven away, hasn't helped them rush to the phone!

He was asked by County's official site whether his team were looking to bounce back from the latest defeat.

Ablett told www.stockportcounty.com: "We are, but we've been after that reaction every week for God knows how long, but we haven't quite had it. So we have to take it on the chin that we haven't been good enough."

Meanwhile, Ablett is determined to hang on: "I still believe that, given the right personnel, I can make this football club into a competitive one next year."
