Tilson: 'We will have to see who is going and go from there'

Blues boss Steve Tilson was full of credit for his side after the 2-1 comeback victory over Stockport County, knowing three points in their final match at Roots Hall of a miserable 2009/10 season was very important going into the club's return to League Two, a win he felt his side deserved.

Tilly spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk: "To go one-nil down in the last home game of the season, we could have folded, but fair play to the lads, because they showed the spirit to get back. It was important we got the result today and we had a decent crowd again, who got behind us."

As for next term and getting out of the basement division as soon as possible.

Tilly continued: "It's going to be a tough summer and we are going to have to get players in. We will have to see who is going and go from there, but we know it's going to be difficult."

Ablett: 'We then wilted and withered after conceding'

However, Hatters boss Garry Ablett was left fuming that the winning goal should never have been given.

In the build up Johnny Herd's throw found Matt Paterson, whose cross was headed into the bottom corner of the goal in the last minute by Macca.

The trouble is the throw should have been givcen to County, and Tilly agreed!

Ablett told www.stockportcounty.com: "After their first couple of chances, I thought we were the better team but we then wilted and withered after conceding. But the be all and end all is that the official has got a decision wrong and it has cost us a goal. It was a throw to us and if we had got it then the ball might have been in their half."

Oh well, when your down and all that; hang on, so are we, everything's OK then!
