Tilson & Brush Star in Vase Celebrations

To help celebrate 25 years since Billericay Town one the last of their three FA Vase victories (1976, 1977 and 1979), a team of ex-Town all stars came face to face with a side selected by Edinburgh, who is of course currently in charge at New Lodge.

In a match, played with just half-an-hour each way, Tilson and Brush featured for 'Edinburgh's All Stars' as a 2-2 draw was attained with the 'BTFC Old Boys'

Ex'Shrimpers and current Hull City and England Under-21 manager Peter Taylor handed the Old Boys the lead just before the interval with a fantastic long range strike which left goalkeeper Eric Doherty helpless.

However Tilson, partnered in the frontline by the less-than-slimline Neil 'Razor' Ruddock, was on hand early in the second half to chip in a good cross for David Kerslake to level things up.

Brush, plying his trade firstly at left back and then in the middle, played the ball around impressively, but even he was left shocked as the Old Boys 'Number Six' - even the PA announcer didn't know his name! - tapped home with only minutes to go.

However, with the last kick of the game, literally, another ex-Shrimper Matt Jones, current plater/assistant manager with Town, grabbed another equaliser for the yellow shirted All Stars.
