Tilson: 'I don't ever give up on things'

Becoming the Shrimpers manager in November 2003 he started with a 4-0 win over Rochdale and has never looked back.

However, with his side facing relegation to the bottom tier once again many of the Roots Hall faithful felt his body langauge at games was possibily leading to the popular former player leaving his post.

No way says Tilly, and he's been speaking to Chairman Ron Martin who promised to back the Blues boss whatever happens, not that he should take that as a guarantee!

Tilly told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I would never walk away from here, I'm just not that type of person. It has been a difficult season and probably my toughest yet to be honest but at the same time it's a challenge and I don't ever give up on things. We have two and half weeks left of the season now and I'm sure there are a few things which will be discussed."

Indeed there is and though S24 is fully behind Tilly, one wouldn't be so sure of Chairman Ron.
