Tilson: We didn't work hard enough
Tilly's not a happy bunny; Steve Tilson wants his dosh

Oh blimey, what a day.

We had some nice articles to write about Saturday's game between Shrimpers and Imps but that's all been blown away what with Ryan's court case and now the legend that is former manager Steve Tilson chasing wages owed him from his final contract at Roots Hall.

Now I'm sure the beleaguered Shrimpers supremo Ron Martin had promised he'd paid this off; obviously not, what a surprise, and there's no doubt the man who brought such success to Southend, (Tilly that is, not Ron!), will have many of the Shrimpers faithful sympathetic to his cause as he did earlier this season when this first came to light.

Tilson told www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk: "I cannot go into too much detail due to ongoing legal proceedings with Southend. But I hope the chairman of Southend will do the right thing morally as well as legally in light of the service I have provided. Unfortunately, should I fail to hear anything within the next few days, I will be forced to bring the matter before the Football League."

Asking Uncle Ron to 'do the right thing morally', interesting theory Tills old chum, and we wish you well, but highly unlikely. You've been gone a while now, while we're still stuck with him.

CEO Tara Brady has placed on record he knows nothing about this matter, he joined after Tilson left the club, and is believed to be looking into it.

However, this is a club remember that has just got up to date in paying it's own players and staff, and without Sainsbury's dosh would be in a bigger financial mess than it actually is already.

If Saturday's game wasn't on a knife edge enough it just for the sheer emotion of Tilly being in charge now of the Imps, Screech's idiotic comment of calling present Blues boss Paul Sturrock an 'idiot', and with the simple matter of points being vital to both sides, it certainly is now.

Luckily there's a couple of good pubs to recommend in the Pub Crawl when it gets posted, eventually!
