Tilly expects tough challenges ahead

They'll be a real retro Division One look next season with Norwich, Charlton and Southampton all there along with Leeds.

Certainly Tilly expects them all to be in the top half even with the Saints starting on minus 10 points!

Speaking to the Echo Tilly said: "There are going to be a number of good games that's for sure. For me I think the standard is going to be even higher than last season and probably the highest it's been since we've been in this league in actual fact. So there are some big clubs around with big budgets and it's going to be difficult. I really thought Leeds were going to go up this year so it did shock me a bit. They will have another real go next season and are one of the teams I really think will be challenging again."

Like all of us he's looking forward to some great stadiums with the excellent facilities that come with them, but maybe not the bigger financial clout those club's attendances can give them. All attracted 20,000 plus crowds last season.

Personally, as covered in our next season analysis last weekend, I can't see a Leicester amongst them, well maybe Norwich if Delia can flog a few more books on how to reheat cold pizzas.

In fact, especially if the administrators tell them they have to sell a few players, the Saints may be at the wrong end of the table. (As also mentioned I'm in charge of the site's edit button if that prediction goes pear-shaped!)

No, worry about our own squad Tilly and let's get positive, there's a real chance of promotion if we invest correctly.
