Tilly and Barny see 'positives'; Clark sees 'good and bad'

Blues boss Steve Tilson and striker Lee Barnard were both determined to remain positive after seeing the Terriers leave Roots Hall Saturday with what seemed an unlikely point when Southend were 2-0 up with only 20 minutes left on the clock.

Tilly told the official site: "The effort from the lads was tremendous and if we have that every week then we are going to get chances. It was disappointing not to win but there are loads of positives to still come out of the game and I'm pleased with how we played against one of the best teams in the league."

Barnard, who scored the opener from the penalty spot, agreed with his manager: "There are positives to be taken out of it because on the whole we played well. Everybody worked hard and the whole team looked solid against a really good team. Huddersfield's two goals were similar so they are both something we can work on and put right. What is important now is that we learn from this and move on."

Huddersfield boss Lee Carke spoke to his club's official site after the game: "There was some good and bad in that performance. The two goals that we gave away were very disappointing; Southend hadn't threatened our goal before the penalty kick. It was a poor decision by the player, not the ref, to concede the penalty. For the second goal we just have to clear the area sometimes when it's in the middle of the pitch rather than trying to dribble out of the midfield area because it was very busy in there."
