Maher - Rumoured to be on his way to Brisbane Road
Kevin Maher, Leon Cort and Darryl Flahavan have been told by Rob Newman that they must make a decision over their contracts by the end of February or Newman will be looking for their replacements.

Blues boss Newman - who seems to enjoy giving out ultimatums - has offered all three players a one-year contract although incredibly Newman has gone public over his ultimatum to the three stars as he looks to already build his squad for next season.

Surely the ultimatum could damage team morale as the three players in question must make a decision in the next 21 days to commit themselves to Southend United or find another club during the summer. However, a leading source from Leyton Orient has told The Little Gazette that Maher is close to signing for the East London club when his contract ends in June. Flahavan should have no problem finding a new club with the Portsmouth local paper already contacting the Blues shot stopper testing the water on a potential move to Fratton Park. Leon Cort has not been short on admirers this season neither.
