SHRIMPERS

OK, I'm going for the 80% chance that young Johnny will be fit and those long throws will cause havoc in the Dons defence, Barney will get a hat-trick and all talk of a Franchise voodoo will be buried for ever.

Or we'll get a lucky deflection and win 1-0 in the 89th minute. Maybe.

Either way, it's important we get some points from the next two games as we enter a F.A. Cup free weekend or we could be looking over our shoulder a touch.

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!

Possible Southend United:
Mildenhall, Francis, Grant, Barrett, Herd, Laurent, Christophe, McCormack, Barnard, Freedman, Moussa.

Subs: Joyce, O'Keefe, Scannell, Walker, Asante.

OPPOSITION

What a shame, the Dons will be back to a pretty decent sized squad for boss Paul Ince to choose from after their hammering at the Valley last weekend.

Skipper Dean Lewington has served a two-match suspension and returns at left-back after a two-game suspension while midfielder Stephen Gleeson (Republic of Ireland Under 21's) and striker Jermaine Easter (Wales) are back in the frame after returning from international duty,.

Winger Martin Devaney is out after receiving a leg injury so Lewis Gobern and Jemal Johnson will compete for his place.

The home crowd will remember Dean Morgan who was on loan for us from Luton, he seems to played against us for half a dozen clubs since, and he'll be in the squad, along with a former trialist in the shape of Dan Woodards.

Milton Keynes Dons (from): Gueret, Doumbe, Davis, Powell, McCracken, Leven, Puncheon, L Gobern, Chadwick, Wilbraham, Baldock, Woodards, Ibehre, Johnson, Swailes, Carrington, Howell and Morgan.

I think we'll see another Dons side turn up Friday so we'll miss a report of the 5-1 away defeat at Charlton!

HISTORY

The club was relaunched under its current name on 21 June 2004, nine months after the then Wimbledon F.C. moved to Milton Keynes.

Milton Keynes Dons is legally a continuation of Wimbledon F.C., however after negotiation with the Football Supporters Federation, the club agreed entrust the trophies and memorabilia of Wimbledon F.C. to the London Borough of Merton, and to make no claims on the history of Wimbledon F.C. thereafter.

This step was taken in part to ensure the recognition of the Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association by the Football Supporters Federation.

If you want a more comprehensive history of the Franchise, but there's not much, go here:
