The teenage striker Antonio German made a good start to winning over the Shrimpers faithful in the 2-2 Cup draw at Macclesfield by grabbing the first equaliser from the spot.

QPR boss Neil Warnock said: "There were a number of clubs interested in Antonio. A couple from the Championship and one or two from League One too. But I want him to get some serious game-time under his belt and he'll get that at Southend. He will play five or six games for them and that will stand him in really good stead."
