Jean Francois Christophe

Christophe: 'We now need to go to Brighton and come away with a result'

Jeff, as he is known to his team-mates, is revelling in the company of his two other French colleagues, Francis Laurent and Jean-Yves M'Voto, where he jokingly hoped they could be as effective as the great AC Milan trio, Gullit (Christophe), Van Basten (Laurent, of course), and leaving M'Voto as Rijkaard!

Christophe smiled as he told Blues Insider: "There isn't any (comparisons). They are true legends in the game and we'll take any reference to them. In all seriousness those players brought great success as a trio to the team and I hope that Francis, Jean-Yves and I can play as many games as possible to bring success on a comparative scale to Southend. This is our ambition, we want to get promoted this season with Southend and I believe for definite that we have the squad to do it."

Jeff continued about his own future: "Personally, like any footballer, I want to play as many games as possible this season, but I am extremely confident that we can achieve something by next May time.
In my career though I want to win trophies and I'll abide by any rules and guidelines to be the best player that I can be and I hope to be very successful for Southend United."
