Swindon Agree To Morrison Staying A Shrimper

He's only 18 but since his dramatic 31 minute debut against Yeovil, Swindon centre back Sean Morrison has shown he has an experienced head on young shoulders, and our Wiltshire League One rivals have a very promising player on their books.

So no surprise that Blues boss Steve Tilson has got the paperwork ready and waiting on the legendary Roots Hall fax machine to allow Sean to stay beyond what should have been his last game Saturday against Hartlepool.

If agreed he could play up to the Walsall game on January 9, and not sure if we can renegotiate then for the rest of the season or just a final month, but either would be welcome in our present situation.

A touch slow sometimes with his distribution, Sean's positional sense and heading ability has been excellent, with S24 making him man-of-the-match at Charlton last weekend with a player mark of 8 out of 10.

Tilly certainly agrees, telling the official site: "I thought that (Charlton) was Sean's best peformance for us so far. He will get better the more he plays and it's important we keep him because we don't have too many defenders right now."

Let's hope the Football League haven't sussed the 'Joycey' scam which somehow allows Morrison to play as long as our back-up American born keeper stays out of the first team squad!

Young Ian Joyce will certainly get bored if the deal does get approved in it's present form, only 2 reserve games scheduled before Morrison would be due to go back, and if he stays longer?!

Now, if only Sean's luck can change, as he was suspended for the Milton Keynes win and in his 3 and a third games so far he has only experienced defeat and yet to see Southend score!

Come on Barney, cheer the lad up, and those goes for Jabo as well!
