Sturrock: Praises goalkeeper

Sturrock: 'We have a very big game at Cheltenham on Saturday'

Both Blues boss Paul Sturrock and striker son Blair got on the offensive minutes after seeing their former club Swindon Town end their Wembley dreams as they lost by the odd goal in three in tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern semi-final, and it would have been Barnet in the two-legged final as well, the heart weeps!

Still they spoke to the Echo right after the game and gave a couple of quick quotes.

Luggy said: 'We dropped a couple of gears after going 1-0 up and we paid the price for that. The players are down but we need to gee them up now. We have a very big game at Cheltenham on Saturday.'

As for the Prosser experiment, oh why does Luggy do this, it never seems to work, he says it would make the side solid down a side Swindon were strong and said he did well for our goal but no so well for one of their's!

Sturrock sees something in Luke that a lot of us never will, certainly not as a wideboy, but there you go, history now.

Not helped by the fact that Chris Phillips has tweeted that 'Swindon's first goalscorer has apparently admitted he was trying to cross the ball'

One defeat in 18 and top of the table, keep saying it!

So on to Blair, not a bad game to follow on from his promising sub appearance at the weekend and he certainly took his first goal of the season well enough.

He said: 'We spoke about reaching Wembley so we're all disappointed. We were undone by a lucky, loopy goal and were better team for 70 minutes. The league is our main aim and we need to make sure we respond in the right way to this defeat at Cheltenham on Saturday.'

Let's hope so.

Defender Mark Phillips wrote on Wednesday: 'Still thinking about last nights game dont know how we went from being on top and 1 nil up to loosing...bring on Saturday now...cant wait.'

While loanee keeper Luke Daniels said: 'Disappointing result but got to move on ready for Saturday now '

It is indeed.
