Sturrock: Pleased with players

Sturrock: 'I think we shaded it'

Blues boss Paul Sturrock led us to believe he was going to bring in some of the fringe players in his squad but in the end decided to just to bring in striker Neil Harris for midfielder JP Kalala.

Sturrock said: "I think that's 15 matches unbeaten now and I decided to go with a strong team in the end for this game. I did think about making changes and resting players, including Dicko, but the players wanted to play and I like to see that character in them. We showed we really wanted to win and I think we shaded it."

Though he wasn't happy with all aspects of the game.

He said: "The first half was very even and scrappy but I thought we went up a gear in the second half. We got the goal but then appeared to sit back and wanted to hang on to what we had which is always dangerous."

Luggy revealed that centre-back Mark Phillips with his hamstring, which led to his 81st minute substitution, and the groin of left-back Peter Gilbert, have left both defenders in some doubt for the weekend visit of Bristol Rovers.
