Elvis and Izale; off to try their luck elsewhere

Former MK Dons and Charlton striker Izale McLeod and fellow hot shot Elvis Hammond, formerly with Cheltenham, were both given a trail in the reserves playing at Oxford in midweek, and after promising to give them an answer by the weekend on their Shrimpers future, the Blues boss Paul Sturrock has confirmed they have left the club.

Luggy told
www.southendunited.co.uk: "Neither were at the required standard we are looking for so I won't be pursuing that. I'd still like one more forward and altough we are on the limit of the budget I think the chairman would support me in making that happen."

Good luck on that one Paul, who refuse to make a panic signing and with just over a week left before the transfer window closes will keep searching "for the right man for the job."
