Glenn Morris: A one club man with Borient, but we'll forgive him
26-year-old Glen Morris spent nine years for Orient until being released at the end of last season.
He has been training with Southend for the past two weeks and played the second half of the friendly against Derby County on Monday night.
The odd Orient fan has commented on weaknesses such as a lack of communication with his defenders, slow on coming off his line, and not the best kicker of the ball out of his area.
However, he's deemed as an excellent shot stopper whose confidence has grown over the years and that with one year left before a tesimonial was due , Chelsea may have been the opposition, O's chairman Barry Herne felt it was best he went before he had to cough up the dosh!
It could be that Glenn is looked as a back-up to a keeper still to arrive, or that he's the new No.1 with youth Daniel Bentley warming the bench.
We'll have to wait and see what boss paul Sturrock has in mind.
The arrival of the former Borient player-of-the-year is the ninth player to have put pen to paper since Paul Sturrock replaced Tilly as the United manager just a couple of weeks ago.
The signing can be finalised, along with the eight others, once the transfer embargo currently imposed on the Shrimpers has been lifted.
