Sturrock: New Shrimpers boss

Sturrock: 'The second half against Dartford was a Rocky Horror Show'

Let's hope he tells us his line-up tonight against the Rams as Friday's guessing at who was out on the Princes Park pitch did the 100-odd Blues faithful no favours atall.

However, Shrimpers manager Paul Sturrock saw enough to know he still needs some experienced cover to help new skipper Craig Easton with his young side.

Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I think this game proved that we need some men. We have a lot of boys with potential but we need to bring in some men to help them."

Blimey Paul, lots of 'men' there, and haven't we got enough players on these 'pre-contract' contracts!

Anyway, he talked more on Friday's disappointing defeat at Dartford.

Sturrock continued: "No manager ever likes to lose but this was our first game and we didn't have the same sharpness as Dartford as they have already played a couple of friendlies."

Fair enough, but for most it was very much a 'game of two halves'.

The new Blues boss agreed: "I'm not going to be critical though and I thought the first half performance was good. The second was a Rocky Horror Show but it was a difficult one for me because I had to study so much. I was looking at those on trial, those on pre-contract agreements and those who were already at the club from last season, so there was a lot to take in."
