Sturrock: New Shrimpers boss

Sturrock: 'Lincoln have been unfortunate not to win more games'

Blues boss Paul Sturrock is certainly not takeing the threat of Lincoln City less seriously because their previous manager Scott Sutton has just walked out.

If anything he's even more focused on the game than usual, if that's possible!

Luggy told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I don't know the politics or what's happened at Lincoln but I do hate playing teams without a manager. It always seems to spur players on and we will have to be wary of that. They've been unfortunate not to win more games and we will have to play well if we are to turn our home form around."

Meanwhile, the Imps caretaker boss Scott Lindsey told the local media that he was not interested in the job full-time, a position that former Shrimpers manager Steve Tilson has been linked with, and his only priority was seeking three points against Southend.

Speaking to www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk the ex-Canvey Island midfielder Lindsey said; "I will not be throwing my hat into the ring and nobody should lose sight of the fact that I am only doing this job in a caretaker capacity. The board have asked myself and Paul Musselwhite to take charge on a temporary basis and whether that be for one game or whatever, ultimately I am the club's first-team coach.
