Sturrock: New Shrimpers boss

Sturrock: 'The players are upset but I think they respect the honesty'

It's been on many a message board that Luggy has a hit list of up to seven players in the present squad that he's prepared to see leave Roots Hall.

And he's now confirmed it!

Agents have been briefed and players prepared to move on with the final remains of Tilly's squad, outside Anthony Grant who will more than likely be sold anyway come January, repaid for their loyalty by being told to bugger off.

I hear Lincolnshire is nice at this time of year lads.

So no prizes for guessing Scott Spencer, Matt Paterson and Johnny Herd are probably on the list, plain daft really, Barry and Blair are hardly goal-scoring macjines and recent events, Johnny may have to play at Macclesfield, show the young left-back is still needed at the Hall.

Luke Prosser and Adam Bouzid of the Sturrock signings have to be considered failures, poor Luke what a disaster he's been, and honestly does Sofiene Zaaboub deserve a long term future at the club.

However, in this present tough climate, finding teams that will invest in a loan signing in all or most of them will be tough, as will be findong suitable replacements.

Good luck Luggy!

Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "We're still very short of strikers and I'm going to have to try and fill the roster up front. But I try and be as honest as I can with players and there are several who I have told that they are down the pecking order for selection and it's important for them to try and find another football club. Their agents are working hard to move them on and we're hoping several can leave and several can come in. The players are upset but I think they respect the honesty."
