Spencer: 'I would love to join Shrimpers'

Name: Scott Spencer

Spencer: 'I just hope I've done enough to get another chance'

Early days for 20-year-old forward Scott Spencer after just one game on trail for the Shrimpers, but he couldn't have done more than pick up a brace for the reserves at Roots Hall yesterday in the 3-2 win over Colchester.

He's a free agent now after leaving League Two Rochdale, however we have seen this before, and though Scott should get another game he'll have to show some consistancy before anything is offered. He will be cheap!

Spencer spoke to the Echo: "I had a slight dip in the second half but I came back from that and I just hope I've done enough to get another chance because I would definitely love to join Southend. I'm a striker and I've scored a couple of goals so I'm pleased with how it went. My agent arranged for me to come in for this game after I left Rochdale and it was great to score. Hopefully it won't be my only game for Southend."

And if it isn't, there are four reserve games planned for January which he could play, the next being an evening fixture at Watford on Monday, January 4th, kick-off 19.00.
