Alassane N'Diaye: It was the longest 48 hours on record, but he's here at last!
Crystal Palace midfielder Alassane N'Diaye has finally joined the Shrimpers on a season's loan.
The 21-year-old, who signed for the Eagles as a free agent two years ago, was not on manager, and ex-Shrimper, Dougie Freedman's go to list at Selhurst Park having made just 13 appearances last season.
He left to join former boss Paul Hart at Swindon Town on loan where he made just 6 appearances, mostly coming off the subs bench, but couldn't help the Robins eventual relegation to the bottom tier.
At 6 foot 5 inches N’Diaye will certainly be an imposing site to opponents on match day, as the youngster of French-Senegalese decent joins former Millwall forward Neil 'Bomber' Harris as the second summer signing of Blues boss Paul Sturrock.
With Shrimpers skipper Craig Easton actively talking to other clubs Luggy was obviously looking for a possible alternative, and with his contract now officially coming to an end his leaving Roots Hall looks increasingly likely.
The Southend manager was quoted this morning that talks are still going on for a winger and another striker to add to his increasingly promising looking squad for the new season, though striker son Blair joins captain Craig in holding out on signing a new deal.
