So it's official, adult season card's will cost £50 more for next season than this, but still below the price we were paying for League One footy in what seems a long, long time ago.

Also increased are matchday tickets which have risen to £19 from the present £16, but only if bought before the game, on the day add another couple of quid! A whole five pounds more than this term, a whacking 31%, better make up your mind early for that visit to watch Crawley Town!

Children's season cards in the Family Enclosure are once again available free of charge when accompanied by a full paying adult.

The direct debit scheme will also continue*.

However, Chief Executive Tara Brady defended the decision.

He told www.southendunited.co.uk: "After relegation from League One 12 months ago a decision was made to reduce prices for supporters by approximately 20%, reducing an adult season card from £380 to £300. This was a one off gesture to thank the supporters for their loyalty. We've now increased prices by roughly 10% plus the increase in VAT and other running costs, which we have absorbed since the start of January."

The beleaguered CEO then goes on to remind us of the present hapless financial situation at Roots Hall.

Brady continued: "I've not hidden the fact the club is losing money and so revenue from Season Cards is vital in closing the gap. Hopefully fans will have seen an improvement in quality of football in the second half of the season and we can increase the number of Season Card holders for next season as a result. The more fans who sign up the greater budget will be available to Paul Sturrock to improve the side and consequently, you would hope greater success will follow."

If Luggy is allowed to sign anybody that is!

Anyway, season cards will go on sale at 09.30 on Friday, april 1st form the Blues Box office while existing Season card Holders having until 15.00 on Friday, April 22nd to renew their current seat.

Any supporter who purchases their Season Card at the current advertised rate regardless of Division.

After this date any seats that have not been renewed will be released on general sale, with a seat swap period for those fans that wish to switch to a different seat taking place between 27th and 29th.

Prices from Monday, May 2nd will increase between £20 and £45 on price category.
