Easton: Shrimpers have to remain positive

Captain Craig could be out for a while as his side face two games in four days
The Shrimpers skipper Craig Easton and left-back Peter Gilbert both picked up injuries in the 2-1 defeat at Lincoln City and the faithful will await news if the pair will miss the games against Crewe on Tuesday and Hereford on Friday.

Gilbert limped off just before half-time with an ankle injury, while Easton followed him off after 51 minutes with a calf problem.

Obviously with such a small squad, stretched to the limit as it is, Blues boss paul Sturrock is a worried man.

Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "Gilbert's got a nasty injury and he's gone over on his ankle quite badly. It's not like Easty to come off either so his injury must be bad too. It's the same calf he injured earlier on this season and it's frustrating but we will just have to battle on."

Gilbert left Sincil Bank on crutches and along with Captian Craig will await the news from the treatment room Monday.

Better get those loan signings in Luggy or the season will quickly fade away into midtable obscurity if it's not beyond saving already.

Just don't ask us about Mark Phillips.
