Mohsni: Doubtful for the Shrimpers

No op for Bilel

The French Tunisian cult defender Bilel Moshni has become a bit of a cult around Roots Hall since his summer signing, but has been carrying various knocks and strains throughout the season.

He certainly hurt his ankle badly in last Tuesday's 2-0 win at Cheltenham to be a major doubt for last weekend's game against Wycombe if it had taken place.

However, some good news, in that after the club sent Bilel for an MRI scan it revealed he does not require any surgery, and as www.southendunited.co.uk tells us: "will instead undertake some rehabilitation work in a bid to regain full fitness."

His manager Paul Sturrock certainly looks upon the centre-half, the scorer of a fine equaliser against Accrington back in the days when we were playing football, as a very important member of the squad, who would have had scouts checking out his progress since Bilel was spotted playing in the suburbs of Paris and given a trail by the Shrimpers.

Luggy told www.football-league.co.uk: "Bilel's developed so much in a short space of time. He could be fantastic for us in the long term and he's certainly the type of quality player that I'd like to bring into the club."

Good Luck Bilel, you should at least be getting some r&r inbetween the snow showers.
