Simon Francis: Believes his talent is worthy of a higher stage
It had to happen eventually, and better sooner than later I suppose, but for the third season running the player-of-the-year curse has struck and it looks as if right back Simon Francis is on his way.
It's an unnamed League One club, S24 had heard strong rumours that Brighton were very interested, and Peterborough were turned down by the player in January and the Fat Man could be back, but the big rumour is that Brentford, of all people, have put in a 150k offer!
Anyway, www.southendunited.co.uk said: "The club have given Simon permission to speak to that team to discuss personal terms. We will update supporters further as the situation develops."
Ho-hum.
