Simpson: Southend need to find killer instinct

Simpson: 'I would be interested in staying'

Midfielder Josh Simpson, who is on loan from League One Peterborough until January, has made it clear he would like to stay a Shrimper for longer as he's having himself a real good time in the south-east of Essex.

Simpson told www.southendunited.co.uk: "It's still probably too early to know exactly what might happen because it's only really been five or six weeks but at the moment I just want to keep on playing games and putting in good performances to get us up the league. Then come November or December time we will have to see where my future lies but I would be interested in staying because I'm enjoying getting games again."

However, Simmo knows he has take very game as it comes along for now, and that means bottom-of-the-table Morcambe Saturday afternoon at Roots Hall.

He continued: "The league table doesn't really mean anything and we need to put in a good performance to beat them. It won't be easy but we will go out there to get three points and bounce back from losing at Northampton."
