M'Voto: Back from Wearside ready and willing to take on the Pirates

As S24 reported last week Southend will welcome back Sunderland loanee centre-back Jean-Yves M'Voto to Roots Hall, where he should be available for selection next Saturday after recovering from a hip injury.

The high flying Pirates side may have lost Rikki Lambert to the Saints for a million but they are still scoring goals at a good rate, owing a debt to Charlton loanee Chris Dickson, who Tilly was taking a look at.

The poerful Frenchman could not have come back soon enough.

Jean-Yves told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I'm feeling a lot better now. I will train this week and hopefully be available for Saturday's match against Bristol Rovers."

On the other injuries, still no news on winger Damien Scannell's continuing problems, be interesting to see if he's selected for this week's reserve game at Peterborough, but there's good news for midfielder Alan McCormack.

McCormack: Should take part in training Monday

Macca limped off Friday evening against Southampton with an ankle injury.

However, he told the official site: "I just aggravated an old injury but it has settled down over the weekend. Hopefully today I will train and we will see how it goes but I don't believe it will be a problem."
