Easton: Rhythm disrupted

Easton: 'I haven't had many injuries in my career'

Shrimpers injured skipper Craig Easton is not a happy bunny as he's been out now for over six weeks since picking up a calf injury in the loss at Northampton Town.

Craig has had to sit on the sidelines suffering the odd setback to a return to first team action as Swindon loanee Michael Timlin has replaced him in the side.

He told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I've been out longer than I thought and it's been frustrating. I thought it was all progressing fine but I went back a couple of weeks after suffering a setback. I tore another bit of my calf but it's coming on now and with every day I'm getting closer to being back training with the lads. I'm not sure when that will be and we have to be sensible about it so I don't suffer any more setbacks."

All the club captain can do is work away and hope to regain full fitness sooner rather than later.

Craig continued: "I'm lucky in a way because it's not a major injury. It is frustrating because I want to be out there with the rest of the lads and, after a week, you get bored. But I haven't had many injuries in my career and hopefully I will soon be back."
