Bilel Mohsni: A doubt for the visit of the Spireites

If the game wasn't tough enough the Shrimpers very influential centre-back Bilel Mohsni is again doubtful for Saturday's game with league leaders Chesterfield.

Blues boss is concerned that the defender who has already missed United's last two matches with an ankle injury loooks likely to be out again.

Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "We will be making another late decision on Bilel's fitness to give him enough time as possible for him to be fit. We're not sure at this stage whether or not he will be able to play but we are monitoring the situation closely."

Luggy has not had a great deal of luck with his back four after a season of injuries and suspensions but did see two of his defensive squad play in the penalty shooy-out victory over Chelmsford in the Essex Senior Cup Wednesday evening and both left-back Peter Gilbert and centre-back Mark Phillips could be involved at the weekend.

Sturrock continued: "Gilbert played the whole game and that has given me something to think about. It was good to see Phillips back too and hopefully this can be the end of his injury problems as he's hardly kicked a ball for us this season."
