Steve Tilson's side will travel to New Lodge on Saturday, 30th July 2005, with an expected kick-off time of 3pm in what could well be the Shrimpers final run out before the Football League campaign commences on Saturday, 6th August.

Craig Edwards, who won the old Essex Butcher Cup whilst in charge of the United SCORE side in 1999-2000 is now in charge of the exiled Clarets who are hopeful of a return to the Borough of Chelmsford before the end of the year.

Edwards' son, Craig Junior, who made one League appearance for United, against Mansfield Town in May 2001 is also part of the City midfield, but popular former Shrimpers full-back Garry Cross has recently parted company with Chelmsford.

The two sides last met in February 2003, with City running out 2-0 victors in an Essex Senior Cup semi-final clash at New Lodge, but the previously July had seen United chalk up a most comprehsensive 6-1 pre-season friendly trimuph at the same venue.
