In a newly scheduled friendly that should cheer the heart of chairman Ron Martin, as well as his wallet, Avran Grant's Premiership side, and always popular opponents for the Shrimpers, West Ham United will be paying a visit to Roots Hall on Tuesday, August 3rd with a 19.45 kick-off.
Of course, it's also the day after the club's High Court appearance in London, so hopefully the game will be a reason to celebrate the future of league football in Southend.
Also a chance to say thanks to Hammers keeper Robert Green for that howler for England against the USA in the World Cup, but we should also see centre half Matthew Upson scored the one given goal against the Germans!

Adults £10, £5 concessions.
