Morrison: 'Francis Laurent is a very good player on his day'

After 8 games on loan for Southend centre-half Sean Morrison returned this month to the Robins, who play the Shrimpers at Roots Hall Saturday afternoon.

He's had to settle for reserve team football and warming the bench since he returned, and a slight thigh strain might lead to his absence from the squad altogether at the weekend, though he's hopeful of being involved.

Sean's been speaking to the local press about his time in Essex, which he obviously enjoyed, and a tip on an exciting but rather frustrating Frenchman!

Morrison told www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk: "It was a brilliant time - I really enjoyed it. Francis Laurent is a very good player on his day and playing every week was a real benefit. To get seven or eight games and my fitness back was really enjoyable. I'm looking for my chance to get back into the first team. I played regularly at Southend, so to come back and sit on the bench is disappointing. But with the form the lads are in it will be hard to get in. I've just got to wait for my chance and then when it comes along I'll take it."

And on Saturday's game, he expects nothing less than a hard battle.

Sean continued: "Southend are a good team, especially at Roots Hall. That's a hard place to go and get points, and they've got quite a few good players. They will be a hard team to beat, but I'm sure we will be up to the test. Their right-winger Francis Laurent is a very good player on his day. If he starts running at the full-backs then he can be very dangerous.
