Selley Returns For Another Loan Stint

Last updated : 08 July 2002 By Mark Wallis
Selley impressed Newman and supporters alike during the last two months of last season with combative performances in the middle of the park, and Newman refused to give up on his man.

It became apparent that, in the immediate futire at least, that Selley would not be coming to Roots Hall permantly, but not being one to give up Newman has settled for second best and Selley will join up with United until at least November, signing on a three month deal. Newman had hoped to seal Selley's services for slightly longer, but being over 24 he was ineligable for a loan deal any longer than three months.

Selley will now go straight into Newman's pre-season build-up, which interestingly features a game against Wimbledon, and is likely to play a part at Burnham Ramblers on Friday evening.
