Ian Selley
Selley was an Arsenal player when he originally arrived at Roots Hall in December 1996, making his debut as a substitute during the First Division match at Oakwell against Barnsley in a 3-0 defeat.

After the Barnsley match, in which Selley was booked, the midfielder who was a Championship medal from his days at Highbury, made three further full appearances and despite not really impressing the Southend supporters will always be remembered for a superb cross which assisted Paul Williams' goal against Birmingham City, live on Sky Sports at Roots Hall.

Selley, who had a cracked rib-bone whilse on loan with the Shrimpers moved onto the Fulham the following summer for a collosal fee in the region of £500,000, however within the first month of his spell at Craven Cottage Selley badly broke his leg and was out of action for almost a year.

The former England Under-21 International made just 3 appearances for Fulham before moving to Wimbledon in the summer of 2000 on a free transfer, however having made only 8 first team appearances since he last played in a Southend shirt, Ian Selley has returned with more than a point to prove.

Selley goes straight into the squad for Friday night's match at the Vetch Field against Swansea City.
