Damien Scannell: The Daggers await

25-year old Damien Scannell has been available on a free transfer since the his contract expired at the end of last season and is the latest Shrimper to find the exit door at Roots Hall.

In this case Damien was actually offered a two-year contract by the club, but he probably felt it wasn't worth the paper it was written on and fancies his chances in League One with, S24 have been told, newly promoted Dagenham & Redbridge.

A great shame, as Damien was at last showing what we felt he was always capable of in a losing cause last season before his untimely injury.

Obviously we wish him well if the move goes through, and the best of the luck for the future, the fourth time S24 have written that in less than 24 hours, and we don't think it will be the last just yet!

Blimey, who is going to face Stockport in the first League game on August the 7th, only six weeks away, let alone the pre-season friendlies.
