Hall: 'I've always scored goals for the teams I've played for'

A victory over the Farmers is always welcome, whichever Southend team achieves it, and the 1-0 win for the Shrimpers seconds on Tuesday might have brought frustrated former Crystal Palace trainee Ryan Hall to the attention of Blues boss Paul Sturrock and a first team recall.

Hall told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I thought I did OK on Tuesday and so did the reserve team manager, so hopefully I've caught the eye of the gaffer and will play at Bury. It's been frustrating not playing because I thought I did OK in the last game I started at Barnet, but I know I need to start scoring goals."

Hall has turned out for the Shrimpers 13 times since joining from Bromley, but 5 of those were coming off the bench, and has yet to find the net for his new side.

Hall continued: "I just can't believe I haven't scored for Southend yet. There has been a real lack of goals from me and it's been tough because I've always scored goals for the teams I've played for. I hit the post at Barnet so I'm getting closer and hopefully I can score on Saturday if I play and then go on to get a few more."
