Centre-forward Alex Revell has signed for Swindon on loan until next January with a view to a permanent transfer.
This seems to be further evidence of the fragile situation at Roots Hall as Uncle Ron continues to find ways to cut costs.
Originally a rumour that first appeared on the BBC 606 message board last night, it was picked up by the local press early Tuesday morning.
26 year-old-Revell has been a first choice in the last two games against Hull and Swindon, with Robins boss Danny Wilson having history in pinching Shrimpers, and S24 making him the best player in a Blue shirt after the 2-1 defeat at the County Ground last Saturday.
The Evening Echo adds that Revell doesn't want to leave but has little choice in the matter.
This site has been one of Alex's greatest critics at times but we have never faulted his work rate and abilty in the air.
He should have scored more goals, only four goals in 43 appearances, but one against Swindon last season, a cracker, obviously stuck in Wilson's mind.
If Tilly didn't think he had a small squad before this!
S24 wishes Alex the best of luck with the move to Wiltshire.
