Rob Newman - who scored Blues second goal was delighted with the victory.
Rob Newman was delighted with the victory: “No doubt about it, Scunthorpe are one of the best teams in the division and we have come out worthy two-nil winners."

The thirty-eight year old player manager was then asked about the goals: “The first goal has come from a corner, the balls hit Corty but he has reacted very well and blasted it in. The second one, I was just in the right place at the right time and I gave it a go, sometimes they go over but today it went in. I was pleased to see it go in as it gave us the cushion of a two goal lead.”

Rob was then asked about Steven Clark’s sending off and answered in true Arsene Wenger style: “I never saw it, as we have come in I have asked Steven the question and he has said he put his head to the other lad’s head, if he has done that then he is a very silly boy and he will be dealt with internally. He could now miss the last three matches of the season. The only blessing in disguise is that the matches will be this season and not next, he will be disciplined internally.”

Newman continued: “We have learnt today that we can match the best teams in the division, it is the first time this season we have had back to back wins and today against a Scunthorpe side who will be in the promotion shake up this season we did very well. I am very pleased at the way the players have responded in the last two weeks. Every man that went on that pitch today gave one hundred percent and I thought we played some good football as well, our fitness was first class today."
