Revell has been training at Boots and Laces last week and will hope he'll be able to take part in the Blues pre-season schedule at some stage.

Alex told the official site: "It's great to be back out there every day with the rest of the lads after being out for so long. I'm obviously still having the odd pain here and there because it's been a while since I've been training every day but I'm pleased with how it's going. Training for everyone has gone well and because we're in good shape we've been able to start working with the footballs much earlier on this year which is what we like."

He did though have to survive a typical tough tackle from his skipper: "Adam Barrett gave it a bit of kick and, after my initial scream, I've come through that fine. It was probably what I needed in fairness and I'm feeling good about things. I worked hard during the summer to get as fit as I could and my aim now is to train every day. Sometimes in pre-season that doesn't happen because you get the odd knock but I don't want that happening because it's an important time for us all."

As for that first friendly away at Great Wakering next Friday: "I've spoken to John Stannard, (Blues physiotherapist), about it and he has given me the all clear to play. I wasn't sure what was going to happen or what the plan was so to know I can play is brilliant. I've really missed being involved in games so I'm really looking to getting out there again but I know it will take a bit of time to be fully match fit again."

Good luck Alex, be good to see you back.
