Tilly will play all the substitutes from last night, apart from Paul Furlong. The Prince will also get a game, oh dear, he really has fallen from grace. Alex Revell, I read, has picked up another injury, a groin strain this time, so will not be taking part.

So it's a chance to see first year pro's such as Rhys Henry, Jamie Lindie and Jamie Forshaw.  Masters will start in goal.

The ground is situated between Chelmsford and Colchester on the main A12 trunk road. If you enter from the north or south make your way to Spinks Lane set of lights opposite the RAF Club turn into Spinks Lane where signposts will direct you to the ground.

Witham Town themselves were founding members of the Essex Senior League in the 1971-72 season. They won the Essex Senior League twice in their history. They are currently members of the Isthmian League First Division North.

Teams called Witham Town have been in existence since the mid 19th Century. The original club was disbanded in 1914 due to the First World War and reformed after the conflict in 1918. This incarnation enjoyed some success including the Braintree & District League Championship in 1920-21 and 1924-25 as well as the Essex Shield Division 2 1925-26 before World War II caused the club to once again be disbanded.

The present club was formed in 1946, and became champions of the Chelmsford and Mid Essex League Division 2 and winners of the Tiptree Charity Cup and the Tolleshunt D`arcy Cup in their first season back playing. The following season the club moved to the Crittalls Windows works ground in the centre of the town and were founder members of the Mid Essex League Premier Division. A supporters club was formed and in 1958 the decision was made to join the Essex and Suffolk Border League and thus step up into intermediate football. During the following seasons the team won the league and it's cup. In 1964 the club decided to seek new playing facilities suitable for Senior football and in 1970 the was offered present ground, Spa Road, although the move did not happen until 1975. In the meantime, Witham Town became founder members of the Essex Senior League and were the inaugural Champions in 1971-72. Witham spent many seasons in this league, winning the championship again in 1985-86. The club applied to join the Vauxhall Opel League and this was accepted in 1987. Following league structuring, Witham kicked off the 2006-07 season in the newly reinstated Isthmian League First Division North.
