Getting there

This is what we are all aiming for, Melbourne Park, not to be confused with the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

By Car

For drivers from Southend after the A127 join the A130 to Chelmsford.

At the junction with the A12 follow the signs for London until Junction 15 and then take the A414 then the A1016 (Westway). After passing the Fire Station on your right at the next set of traffic lights then take a left onto the A1060 to Sawbridgeworth. After approximately one mile at the second set of traffic lights turn right into Chignal Road. After a further mile take a right turn into Melbourne Avenue and immediately before the flats take a left turn into Salerno Way.

Around 22 miles and 'should' take you just over 30 minutes, but give yourself an hour!

By Train

It's a bit of a walk to Melbourne Park so you could catch the number 54 and 56 buses which run a regular service every fifteen minutes, departing initially from outside the site of the old Bus Station opposite the train station in Duke Street. Your journey should take around fifteen minutes from this point.

There is a taxi rank for the unfit few, or your running late!

Trains every twenty minutes from Southend Victoria at 06, 26 and 46 minutes past the hour.

The journey will take you up to an hour taking around 30 minutes to Shenfield, then after a short wait 15 minutes on to Shenfield.

Return services from Chelmsford to Southend run at 11, 40 and 58.
