This evening the Blues make another short journey, this time to Park Lane for our second pre-season friendly against Canvey Island, kick off at 7.45pm.
No team news for Blues yet but new keeper Ian Joyce is expected to play at some stage but it would be good to see new No. 1 Steve Mildenhall for the first time.

For Canvey new signings Tarkan Mustafa and Ben Patten will feature for the Gulls, though Richard Halle (Illness) and Gabriel Fanibuyan (Holiday) will miss out.  A host of trialists will also be turning out for both clubs hoping to impress their respective managers.

The nearest railway station is Benfleet railway station on the Fenchurch Street Line.

Admission for the game will be £8.50 Adults, £4.50 Concessions*, and £1 U12's Accompanied by a full paying adult. There is no charge to transfer to the seating area of the ground.

*Concession is classed as OAP, Students with a valid ID card, and children aged 12-16.

A limited number of programmes have been produced at £1.00 each. This features an interview with Southend kit man and former Canvey player Steve Parmenter, as well as an article about the Fossett's Farm development.

Blues fans have been encouraged to use the away bar before and after the game, though there is no segregation. The away bar can be located at the "Sea Wall End" of the ground, and has a good selection of draught and bottled drinks.

There is free car parking at Park Lane, though this will fill up pretty quickly, so we recommend parking in the numerous streets around the ground.

There is a disabled are of the ground, and disabled parking near the turnstiles.

Full report as soon as we can.
