One Irishman Continues His Stay As Another Departs

Dominic Foley failed to show his worth with Blues
Six-times Republic Of Ireland international Foley, who has two goals at that level, has returned to First Division Watford after just one month on loan at Southend United. The tall target man certainly showed snippets of what he is capable of with some deft touches and silky lay-off skills, but his five-game period by the seaside failed to produce a goal, and in his time at the club Blues have lost four and won just one of their matches.

By contrast, Eire Under-20 international central defender Kelly has been a revelation alongside Leon Cort, and has had his week-long extension prolonged to a second month on loan from Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur after the cancellation of the World Youth Championships in Dubai. The composed performer was due to fly out with the rest of the Under-20 squad until the competition was called off due to the rising tensions in the Middle East. Shrimpers supporters will now be hoping to see more of the form that inspired victories over Hull City and Rushden & Diamonds in the coming weeks.
