Southend have completed the loan deal of the French central defender Jean-Yves Mvoto from the Black Cats.
He will be in a Shrimpers shirt until at least January 10, 2010 and has been given the squad number 20.
Even with Blues skipper Adam Barrett declared fit for the Roots Hall encounter with Huddersfield on Saturday, the 21-year-old still gives the club an important, and very timely, defensive option.
Mvoto joined Sunderland in 2008 during the January transfer window from Paris St.Germain for a fee of £300,000, but he has yet to play a game for the Premier League club.
The 6ft 4in centre-back has played for the French Under-19 side where he's partnered ex-Blue loanee Dorian Dervite who made such an impression last season.
Has Tilly discovered another 'Dervite'?
We will see!
