No approach from Dons but has Tilly approached them?

Tilly and the Dons: No way says 'a spokesman', but nothing from the man himself

That famous 'club spokesman' that the Echo always dig up when they need a quote has been at it again.

They told www.echo-news.co.uk: "We're aware of the reports and rumours but there has been no approach from any club to speak to Steve."

What the local paper and his mate seemed to have missed is the article stating that Tilly approached MK Dons, and there lays the headline, is he so upset at the behind the scenes problems dragging the Shrimpers down this season that after seven and a half years he finally wants out.

Anyway, even though we accept it's more likely Dons chairman Pete Winkleman will look elsewhere to replace present manager Paul Ince, who will leave at the end of the season, or simply promote assistant Karl Robinson, with former Wycombe boss John Gorman as his No. 2, it would be good to hear from Tilly himself denying that he was ever even interested.

If not this story will continue to run, at least until Dons actually give the job to someone, or when another club, certainly in the lower leagues, decides to send it's present boss packing.
